It's the question all writers get asked: Where do you get your ideas? Every writer is different and every idea is different. That's what makes it so fun.
For me, an idea for a new book can come from anything. A conversation with a friend, a song lyric, a random situation that I embellish into a what if. Sometimes it blossoms one tiny thing will spark an entire story from start to finish, right there in my head and I see it all play out like a movie. Other times, I see one scene or one character and I file it away until other things start to fill in the empty spaces.
I thought it would be fun to share some of the background on how I came up with the ideas for some of my books. So each Friday, I'll share the spark that started the story of one of my novels.
Check back tomorrow for a look at how On Paper got started.
